Are there any middle of the road priced binoculars that really make any difference in the ability to see what I am looking at better? I have Leupolds, not the higher priced ones, that made a big difference when I got them, but now they seem to be just run of the mill. I know my eyesight is getting worse, which is probably what accounts for the, what seems like limited improvement. Any mid-priced binos that have made a big difference in brightness and clarity for an aging hunter?

Instead of settling for lower quality, maybe consider used high end binos. Rokslide has a very active optics classified section. The one downside is that it is P2P and you will have trust/vet the source of who you're buying from. Look at feedback score, forum activity, length of time on forum, etc. and you should be fine. I've bought and sold many items on there.

You can get excellent glass nowadays for $500 or less. Maven C series, GPO ED, Athlon Midas, Leupold BX4 to name a few.

I recently traded for a Swarovski rifle scope in a package deal. I didn’t really want it but shot the rifle with it Sunday and it really shamed my Burris FF-II that’s on my truck gun. The clarity and brightness were a whole new level. You might investigate some of their binoculars.

Please give a call, 516-217-1000, when you have a few moments I've purchased several items from them and will vouch for their quality. Look for a deal on an open box or demo model. You can save some decent coin going in that direction.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

I bought a set of Meopta Meostar B1 HD 10x42s for about $550 used on eBay and they are awesome. I've been really impressed.

I’ve been happy with a pair of 12x40 Steiner binos I bought way back when. Sent them in couple years ago to get the outer rubber replaced.

If you can wait and save up some more you can get some really great binoculars. If you are serious about hunting and don't have one foot in the grave you will get many years of service out of them and will appreciate them every time you use them. I bought some $200 binos, then some $500, and now have $1000 ones. The difference between each tier has been night and day. If you don't hunt a lot or are about to hang it up then it doesn't make sense but if you hunt every year and are going to be hunting for the next 20 years then $1,000 to be able to see is a no brainer

you might want to check out the sig zulu image stabilized binos. I just bought a pair and they are unbelievable. flip a switch and a gyro kicks in and all that shaking you do while holding up your binos turns into a very stable image. have been very impressed...I believe the 10x are about $600
