Or whatever you look forward to this season.
Mine is to shooting ducks and catch crappie all in the same day.. All on public of course…just in case garrett is wondering.. Normally I just fish in the summer and focus on hunting in winter, so this is a new one for me. Packing fishing gear and duck hunting gear and working both in on the same day will be a challenge.

Shoot ducks and have a good time. My goals are normally just to shoot well, typically expect to shoot 2 ducks for every 3 shots I take. I like keeping shooting to a minimum to keep the boom scouters away.

To actually find ducks when scouting. Probably because I’m still pretty new but I had a hard time finding birds last year

To shoot a limit and have at least 4 different types of duck on a single hunt. Was able to do it three times last year, would like to double that number this year.

Kill birds for the dog to retrieve. Make sure he is steady and doesn’t break. If we can do that it’ll be a good year. Also will be hunting some public this year as well as private.

Spend more time in the blind. Spend more time scouting. Hunt new water. Hunt a big lake spread. Find some actual flooded hardwood that doesn't involve tripping over 5 million downed willow trees.
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

Keep the new pup on birds and get enough smell back to enjoy the smell of a wet dog.

My goal is to lame it out for a hunt. Even just once. First deer season opener I didn't make (bow and rifle) in years.

To get as far along on the duck shack as possible. Some know me as a workaholic and it simply isn't true. I am a workaddictjunkeycrackhead. I will get a hunt or two in while we are down there but I need a lot more birds to show at the coast before I go to getting anrgy at them.

I don't really have 'goals' for duck season other than to have fun and enjoy myself. My boys hunts with me most of the time and it is great quality time spent together. My youngest isn't quite ready to start shooting, so will have some 'goals' for him when he does start shooting.
We will make several out of state trips again this year and enjoy the adventures! It's never really a goal, but we do like going and exploring new to us places.

To actually find ducks when scouting. Probably because I’m still pretty new but I had a hard time finding birds last year Wasn't just you....I have been hunting public for 22yrs and the last 6-8yrs have gradually been tougher. Have had to scout a lot harder and smarter to have successful hunts, which meant not hunting as much.

An't that the truth. There seems to be good bird numbers right now. But im afraid once hunting pressure hits the birds are going to dissipate. So many times the last few years I was literally hunting spots that held a dozen to dozen and a half birds bc that is all I could find.

To actually find ducks when scouting. Probably because I’m still pretty new but I had a hard time finding birds last year I will tell you never give up. Can’t tell yeah how many times I’m about to give up on a lake scouting saying to myself “there are zero ducks on this lake, I’ll try one last spot..”, then boom you kick up a group of 200.

For some reason, I've never shot a wigeon, so I'd like to mark that off the list! Other than that, I'm training my cocker to retrieve ducks, so I'd like to get him honed in a bit.

Me and my son are going to collect all the energy drink cans we pick up this year off of public land hunts...we picked up a lot of trash last year.

Would like to keep trying new recipes and keep honing in on my snack stick recipe. Usually I have a goal to shoot some cool odd ball birds. I always say it is better shooting something odd than shooting a band. Still searching high and low for that brewers duck and a few years ago I shot a couple mallard with no white bar. Since then I havent shot another and would like to get one mounted next to the mallard pin hybrid I already have in the duck room. Bands are always a goal every season, but not a must. Most of all, I truly enjoy the hunts and memories. Whether I feel like I am getting kicked in the teeth grinding or I feel like a hero, its just the experiences I truly love each and every season.
