Bought a Benelli M2 a few days ago….came with a nice variety of chokes.
Is there any value in using a Kicks or Briley choke vs. the factory choke tube?
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Shoot the factory chokes and see how they pattern. In my SBE3 the factory chokes are great. I have a kicks for my old Rem 870 that's nearing 20 years old now. Did it help? maybe. Bought it when I was in college and my buddy said I HAD to have one. Benelli makes good guns and chokes try what you already paid for before spending more.

Factory chokes are good. I'd use muller or Carlson's before anyone else though, if you want to go aftermarket.

i wanted something between a modified and improved cylinder for my hunting situations, I went with a light modified, most shots under 40yds. Could be overthinking it.

Most shotguns pattern fine with factory chokes if you can center up. Pattern your shotgun before you go buy more chokes. If you feel aftermarket chokes give you an edge use them. If you are shooting decoying birds they are not necessary. Steel patterns tight unless you push the velocity and then patterns start to blow out. The only utility I see in aftermarket chokes is if you are throwing hail Mary’s at out of range birds that don’t decoy.

I shoot the same gun in a 20 gauge. The Rob Roberts T3 and T2 pattern great in that gun.

I use the Kicks high flyer full choke on a Remington VersaMax, and its great.
I looked at some carlson chokes, but decided not to put any more money into a shotgun that i'll just get rid of soon.

I got on the aftermarket choke band wagon for a while and ended up buying a jebs high voltage. It has a real tight pattern but all my shots at ducks are 20-30 yards max so the factory IC or M gets used the most. I wish I had saved the money on that choke and bought shells or beer instead. Factory chokes are better than folks want to think.
