37 in the blind in Shackelford county. 2 absolute monster pigs at their feeder at daylight. Any other day I would have shot one. Cows scattered about. Only 1 little 4pt around 8:30 so far. Beautiful morning to be alive!

Spouse headed up to the mountains at 6 am. Cold and slippery roads this morning , he'll be happy to finally find some deer. WT hunting has been slow for us this year.
Hoping the little bit of snow yesterday will help, wind is coming up today though.

One doe showed up.

I used to hunt doe around those feeders at Arkey’s and 11th Street.

Beautiful morning in Jack County. Haven't seen a single doe but 5 different bucks all hanging around this morning. Mostly young 8 points. Was hoping to pop a doe first thing this morning. Enjoying the quiet nature now hoping for some late morning movement.

They were lined up early yesterday afternoon. Quite a few of easy type ladies walking main street early trying to drum up business. Have not heard a shot this morning. Must have been a lot of sleeping in this morning.

Lovely morning here, but no action. Saw two doe at 300 yards out - a mom and young one. Had coffee and a good book.

3 bucks and 3 does in Leon county nothing legal, grandson saw a giant but no shot.
I’m hunting with his friend because he doesn’t have safety Ed yet, plus I want to make sure it’s legal.

Best hunting time shows to be from around 10:30 to 12:30, so we are hunting late.
Right at 10:30 a nice tall young buck came to the feeder, not legal, but too young, he will b a good one if the neighbors don’t kill him.
My son is at the ranch in Coleman county, he said it was Jack Frost out this morning.

Couple pigs down, few young bucks moving. Heard some neighbors shoot.

Sitting at home. First opening day I have missed in 10 years.
Gas prices too high to make the trip. 950 miles to the ranch from AZ.
I told my wife I was going to set up the pop up blind in the family room and watch deer hunting on TV.

Gunshots were infrequent this morning, so I guess it wasn’t just me that didn’t see much. I heard the first shot at 7:05, second at 7:25, third at 9.

Not much shooting this morning here, last year it was all morning long.

I've seen deer every sit until today. Pretty morning, heard 4-5 shots around me.

I was hoping for an old buck going downhill to turn into jerky. He was rutting like fool and chasing anything that looked like a deer.

Nice deer! I can't hunt this weekend, have soccer games today & tomorrow.....but starting next weekend, it's on!

Crazy wind here, not looking hopeful. Maybe those big pigs will show up again.

Saw 11 deer this morning, two spikes and a buck that looked mature but didn’t get much of a look at his rack. Also saw two pigs but did not come into bow range.

Made a bad stand pick as the rising sun was in my eyes something fierce, you might as well have had a spotlight on me. That stand will be an evening sit from now on

Saw 7 does, an 8 and a spike. Not terrible

Saw a bunch of does, a spike, small 8 and big 8, but the 2 really big bucks that I have on camera didn't show. I'm manning the smoker right now for tonight's BBQ.
