I was in my tree stand this afternoon and three bucks strolled in over my right shoulder about 20 yds away. I waited till they got behind an oak mott and drew my bow but they didn't clear the mott for what felt like 5 minutes. In reality it's probably a fraction of that time but I didn't let off for fear of spooking them. Heart was racing and the shoulder was burning. Missed the shot but they hung around just out of bow range and behind too much brush. A missed opportunity I knew it was risky drawing so early but didn't want to wait too long either. They casually strolled away after 15 minutes. Here's the question to y'all in your experience will I have another chance tomorrow or should I wait a little bit. Thanks for reading

If you didn't spook them they very well could be back.

Thanks that's what I'm hoping for. They didn't seem too spooked. Just looked around and took their sweet time moving on.

I wouldn’t worry about it.

You’ll get another opportunity more than likely and if you don’t it’s not because of what happened.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

If you have a climber or a saddle, I would split the distance to where you saw them last and hunt that spot if possible. Sometimes I wonder if they pattern us that well, and assume they are out of danger when in reality they are just barely out of range. They are probably not that smart, I am probably anthropomorphizing them. But who knows?

That's a good idea. I'll give that a try
