Anybody have one, what's your thoughts and opinions? Thinking about a new bolt gun in 308, and I keep landing on that one. I thought about tikka but I can't find one equipped about the same as the begara in left hand in America, but maybe I haven't looked in the right places. Any other options out there I'm missing that are equipped like that rifle? Got to be left hand, got to have a fairly heavy barrel, and prefer the type of stock on the bergara though if the price was right I wouldn't mind buying a replacement stock

I handled several different rifles at all the big box stores when I was looking for a bolt gun about a year ago and for all the ones I handled the Bergara b-14HMR was the smoothest action and best fit and finish for the +- $1000 mark. I was originally hunting for a Savage ultralight but I was severely disappointed with the bolt feel, it felt like someone had dumped sand in the bolt and cycled it 1000 times, super gritty. When I'm ready for another reloading project I'm gonna find a Bergara in 22-250 with the 1-9 twist rate.

I had a Bergara B-14 Hunter. The trigger was fantastic, smooth bolt, fit and finish was great...but I could not get it to shoot worth a darn. After I got rid of it, my buddy bought the b-14 HMR. His shoots lights out, and has a fantastic trigger, smooth bolt and great fit and finish. I'm guessing the first one had an issue of some sort. throat or chamber issue? Don't know. Maybe I should have sent it back to Bergara instead of trading it. I would look at Bergara again.

I came very close to buying an HMR but settled on the Tikka because it's primarily a hunting rifle first, then a target rifle. If you can stand the weight, the HMR is a great value and I would not hesitate to own one if it fit my needs. My friend's son just got one in .300WM and it's a shooter.

I have one in 6.5creedmoor. I love the gun, had to cut the barrel down to around 16.5 to make it easier to move around the blind with a suppressor. Shoots lights out.

I have had several dropped off to me to get them to shoot.
I got nothing bad to say, nothing.
Cycled nice, trigger felt good, I got them to shoot tight, stout ejection, ergonomic to shoot.

My only issue was I was less than impressed with the stock. Just had a very Remington Tupperware feel to me. I’m just comparing to an HS Precision I’ve spent years behind but everything else about the HMR seems great.

Shoots lights out. My only complaint is it’s heavy when walking around.

I have one in 6.5 PRC and like it a lot, especially for the money. The stock is very good for the price range, the bottom metal is impressive and the trigger is decent. I still prefer the Tikka trigger and action but that would be several hundred more to get an equivalent rig.

I have one, cut it down to 16" to make it a little handier. Shoots well.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Glad to hear that people are having good luck with them. That HMR 14 seems to be a pretty good balance of what you're getting for what you're paying. I don't mind the weight because it would mostly get hauled in a pickup LOL

I have one and had it cut down as well, no complaints. It is heavy, but shoots great and doesn't seem to have a whole lot of recoil to me.

Ive got one. Shoots nice but as others have said its long, especially with the can. Stock weighs about 4.5 pounds, so minds about 12 pounds before the suppressor....

I picked up a wilderness ridge SP from a buddy yesterday. I think I am going to trade him my HMR for it. Both felt great but the ridge SP is 1.5 pounds lighter with my suppressor on than the HMR with it off, and about the same length with the can as the HMR without...Probably going to shop around for a m5 bottom metal stock though
