Never seen them actually up on the hopper getting corn before. I am used to having squirrels and raccoons get up there...but not crows. The crows have always stayed on the ground and picked up the corn there. The deer are hitting the feeders pretty hard right now though, so maybe there isn't any corn left on the ground when the crows come by....IDK.

Yes crows will eat from the spinner just put a wire cage up nice set up, looks like East Texas Yes, Deep East Texas. I've tried cages before and the raccoons just tear them up over time. The 'thrower' has a cage of sorts built into it anyway. Its just enough to keep to coons from tearing up the spinner. I don't care if the crows and squirrels get a little corn from it, just never seen the crows up there. Coons are a different story, they will reach in and spin out 2-3 lbs of corn a sitting. So Duke Dog Proof traps at the base of the feeder and my .17 hmr solve that problem. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/01/full-56101-331862-duke_dp1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/01/full-56101-331863-duke_dp4.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/01/full-56101-331864-455_g_copy_800x516.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/01/full-56101-331865-coons1.jpg)

For the crows you might wanna try hanging a dead crow decoy or two. My wife did this in our yard to keep them away from the bird feeder and it worked although she did move them around every few days. If you have regular crow decoys for hunting you can just hang them upside down to make them look "dead."

I started using the same trap at my feeder September first, got 6 raccoons in about two weeks. And corn consumption has fallen back in line.

Put a bowl of this down below your feeder. My great grandad kept 2 bottles of this in his kitchen. One above the sink, and one below. Every morning, he would take the one from above the sink and pour a juice glass sized shot. When that bottle was empty, the bottom one moved up. Then, he would call my granddad to bring him another bottle.

Everything is hungry, food scarce out there.
