I am used to having squirrels and raccoons get up there...but not crows. The crows have always stayed on the ground and picked up the corn there. The deer are hitting the feeders pretty hard right now though, so maybe there isn't any corn left on the ground when the crows come by....IDK. Spartans ask not...how many, but where!

I've tried cages before and the raccoons just tear them up over time. The 'thrower' has a cage of sorts built into it anyway. Its just enough to keep to coons from tearing up the spinner. I don't care if the crows and squirrels get a little corn from it, just never seen the crows up there. Coons are a different story, they will reach in and spin out 2-3 lbs of corn a sitting. So Duke Dog Proof traps at the base of the feeder and my .17 hmr solve that problem. Spartans ask not...how many, but where!

My wife did this in our yard to keep them away from the bird feeder and it worked although she did move them around every few days. If you have regular crow decoys for hunting you can just hang them upside down to make them look "dead."
