Who still writes in it? I do, but it's not so pretty. It's back in the schools and my grandchildren are learning it. The penmanship, even among men, many moons ago was astounding. I have a letter from my grandfather, written to my grandmother, on their 12th anniversary. 1920s. She'd already had two young children die in her arms by then. His penmanship is a work of art...and it's a tear-jerker of a letter.

My 10 year old's handwriting in print is atrocious. When he writes in cursive (required for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at his school) it is legible art. There is just something about the interconnected loops and swoops that he gets much better than when printing.

My writing has always been terrible. Worse now since I rarely do it and sometimes I forget mid-word how to write that particular letter. My last real letters were written when I was in Korea in the 80's.

I used to have good penmanship, now I can barely read it myself.

Useless skill. I have no idea why they would be pushing it in schools.

I still write in cursive. I write like a girl. But there are reasons for that. When I was in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, I caused whole whole forests to be decimated because I had to use reams of paper writing X hundred times, "I will not....." I did get to the point where I could hold 3 pencils at once to write.

Just bringing back writing in general is great, my wifes nephews who are in middle school write about as good as my 6 year old.

Only for signature, and it’s pretty illegible. I’d rather print.

My son is 37 and has never learned cursive. Top of his classes in HS and college and productive as an adult. My wife said his teachers were OK with it.

Because it’s 2-3x faster than printing. That’s only one reason but I figure it’s one you can understand.

And typing is much faster than either.

I write in cursive 95% of the time. My oldest two (adult) children can barely, they didn't teach cursive when they were in school. My youngest two kids are learning cursive now, glad they brought it back.

Since I computer for a job (the last 22 years), my handwriting went from somewhat passable to almost completely unreadable now. With automated payments and such, I can hardly even write a check, and my signature is so bad the bank called me about one check and wanted to make sure it was me. If forced to write something more than a shopping list, I would use cursive, but good luck to anybody who has to read it (including me).

I do my name in cursive for signatures or to initial something. That's about it.

After a few Johnny Walkers and water’s I can talk in cursive pretty well….

We learned it in school. At one point I could write fluently in cursive but not anymore, but I may Surprise myself.

Since media print, business documents, Newspapers, etc, are all printed I don’t see a useful reason to employ cursive any longer.

My family was of the old ways and all wrote in cursive. Some of their correspondence was like reading another language

My grandmother used to correspond with my wife by writing letters back and forth. Granny wouldn’t talk on the phone after her hearing got really bad. I was able to decipher Granny’s cursive letters for my wife.

I worked on a Reactor Operations crew with my father in law. His writing was so bad it was illegible. His printing was even worse. He was not allowed to make log entries in any official logbook!!!
