Anyone looked considered one of these tractors. I find myself in need of a small tractor for upkeep on in reality about 10 acres st the high side more like 7 or so acres. It has not been taken good care of the last couple years since a Cousin passed away and his tractor we used on his place and mine have not been cleaned up good in about 3years so having used their tractor for years I am looking st getting something in the 25 to 35HP range with a bucket, already have the other implements needed available for that size tractor. Price is a consideration for me as well Been looking at Kubota of course and Mahindri but for a light usage tractor thinking about trying the Badboy. I do like their mowers and for the price point not bad value if they hold up. Thinking 4025 or 4035 model

We run lots of tractors and big equipment and this is my opinion on all things equipment related. Saving a few dollars today on a lessor quality piece of equipment will most of the time cost you your savings plus more during the life of that piece of equipment wether it be in down time, broken parts, aggravation, lack of parts in 10-12 years, trying to find parts in general, resale value etc etc etc . I’ve tried saving money doing exactly what your looking to do and I’ve regretted it just about every time I’ve attempted it. My advice is buy as good of a tractor as you can afford with a name brand machine new or used and don’t look back.
Some people will argue this point and say this or that machine will be fine and it might be true but from my years of messing with them I’ve learned enough expensive lessons to say nope never again. Lots of clean used Kubotas in your power range out thr for sale as well so I’d prefer a used good one over a new off brand.

I’ve had good luck with my bad boy mower and I’d almost guess someone else is building them and branding them bad boy. Don’t know anyone personally that’s used one so I’m really no help. But if I were in the market and a kubota was that close in price I’d lean that way just because of the reputation and ease of getting parts.

I have walked into Deere in McKinney, now Van Alstyne, Sulphur Springs, and Paris and obtained parts I needed. That is dang good support in my opinion. Of course the "Sound Guard" tractors are touted as the best Deere ever made. Parts can still be ordered online as well. My skid steer is Kubota, I ordered a whole filter kit that arrived in four days. In the event of a break down, I know Kubota will take care of me. Kevin, get a 40-45 horse Kubota and don't look back. That would be my minimum horse power for that many acres. 30-35 horse you are soon to find its' limits. To me that is the line of a toy tractor to a real tractor.

Somebody else probably makes it and it just has a different color scheme. Parts and dealer service would be a concern if Bad Boy is trying to manufacture their own tractor. I have a Cub Cadet tractor, but it is a Kioti painted yellow. I found that out when I told the dealer my concerns. I was able to confirm this and went ahead and bought it because it had more features and was less $. JD and Kubota do have the best resale. Buy big enough you can easily lift a round bale or it will be difficult to sell if you ever want to get rid of it or trade up.

Kukje makes Branson tractors also. I bought one of those brand new in 2004 and had a lot of issues with it. Wouldn’t recommend. A lot can change in 20 years but I had more problems with it than pretty much anything I have bought new since.
I have owned six different tractors over the past 25 years. Unless you are trying to get around tight places close to a house or are trying to haul it with a ford ranger get something big. Bigger is better. Doing things with tractors is a slow process. Do you want to be covering 3’ at a time or 8’ Do you want a tractor that can pick up that pallet full of corn?
Aside from lifting heavy things a small tractor can do pretty much anything a big one can it just will take longer, potentially a lot longer. Maybe if you are retired and having nothing to do and live on the property it isn’t such a big deal but as an example the last tractoring I did at my hunting place took three 10 hr days. This was shredding, discing, and planting food plots. I was using a 75hp tractor and 8-10’ implements. If I had a small tractor and 4’ implements it would have took twice as long. I don’t have 60 hrs to spend doing this stuff.
With an 8’ shredder it takes me two days to mow all my roads and trails. I make two passes to keep them roughly 15’ wide so I can drive around without branches scratching up my truck. With a smaller tractor and 4-5’ shredder that would be three passes.
I also have moved a lot of rocks, stumps, etc that a smaller tractor wouldn’t budge.

As far as Bad Boy goes I wasn't aware they even made a tractor. Service might be an issue.

Get the most horse power you can afford. You will be thankful later. My Mahindra has been great.

Look at LS by New Holland if you are wanting a quality, budget friendly tractor.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I bought my little Kioti 2610 2 years ago and have loved it. Until I tried to pick up a IBC tote of water. Now I regeret not getting a bigger tactor. Like said above, great for mowing and and small projects around the farm, but m9ving and lifting very much, get youself a much more powerful tractor.

I have a 40 HP Kubota, and there are times I wish I had a 60 HP. And, keep in mind, when tractor shopping, that a hydrostatic Transmission will suck up about 5 HP. Might not matter on a big tractor, but matters more on a smaller tractor.

The talk about going larger isn’t a bad idea but don’t take it out of perspective, I don’t care if you have a 600hp tractor there will come a day you wished you had one twice as big because I’ve been in that exact situation more than a few times. A 25 horse is more than enough for 7-10 acres but a 35 gives you a little more umph so to speak but not much but by going bigger it generally means you can do the job a little faster so think of the added HP as time subtraction from your project. 10 hp difference isn’t very much so it’s not like it’s cutting your shredding time in half but it will make a little difference.

The main thing to look at when comparing horse power of a tractor with a loader, is how much weight will it lift.
I would encourage anyone to get a front end loader with skid steer connections, and some type of hydraulic remotes, even if they are at the rear of the tractor.

I have not said on here but several know with health issues a few years ago I moved back to Mississippi where Family could help me out. I still get out to visit and hunt in Texas most years.
The place I keep up or will be again is 100 acres plus about 3 acres for a cousin that is across the road. Of that there will be no more than 15 acres total to be clipped a couple times a year and perhaps 2+ acres of food plots scattered around. Some of the trails between open areas are through pine plantations or paths of least resistance winding through 20 to 25 year old oaks in a creek bottom . About half the place is in pines and the other is in oaks with small open areas. I used either My Dads or cousins tractors for years and theirs are old and often break down for one thing or another. Most of what I will be working on is their property but I am the one that hunts it so that is more than fare. Getting to some of the open areas the trails are windy and not that wide in places so a smaller tractor is what I want without cutting trees that are not mine. For this I get to be the one to hunt 140 acres with the wife and though my 32 acre portion is nice it almost all swamp that floods with live year round creek and 3 spring fed branches that run through it. Not a place for a building on it. At the other end of the 100 acres on that side of the road I have an acre when a trailer once was that I am putting a small cabin for us to stay at instead of driving 65 miles so often go for several days at a time. Being retired as many know has advantages and disadvantages.
For years I would shred most of the same openings with a Kubota L210 or an old Massy 35 so a 35 horse tractor is a lot more tractor than that and on par with the old Massey 35 that sure was a bear to drive compared to newer tractors. The old L210 is still around but with its age an being abused for years it makes for a good little garden tractor. I will be using some of the same implements that we have used for quite a few years such as 5 or 6 foot bush hog (have both), box blade, disk, spreader, harrow.... Once I get things cleaned up from 2 to 3 years of growth the work on the tractor will be easier when kept up more regularly Good Lord Willing to let me do it.
After visiting Mahindra and Kubota dealers and the Badboy dealer today I am going against some of the advice here and we are the bad boy 4035 for a few reasons, Price being one but not totally things like the leveling rod and cruise control are included with the BB but not with the others and they want a few hundred more for those. The front end loader was easy to use and the had one with 15 hours they had used as a demo and a little around there with land grader and front end loader. The loader had no problem with full scoop of rocks lifting to full height and driving around. Lift height was higher than the others I tried and faster. 2200lbs at the pivot pins and 3000+ lbs 3pt hitch lift ain't bad for a 3100lb tractor. 15 .2 hours on it for demo tractor and still full warranty.
Of course the other dealers badmouthed the BB with the Mahindra dealer really doing that and when I ask him about over half implements in his yard being BadBoy he said well the do get those right. About all the BB implements are made in Arkansas and are heavier duty than the others that were on the lot. With the Mahindra I would have had to go 4540 to get higher PTO HP or less HP wiht the 2633 and things with the 2633 a much more sluggish in the loader and lower rated lift. I did like the control location better but not 4,000 better plus 300 for cruise control with the HST and the BB dealer is delivering for free and the Mahindra dealer said he would give us a break at $6 a mile to deliver the tractor so nearly 600 more counting taxes for those. If I really had to have the biggher the Mahindra 40 HP with standard transmission would have gotten the nod but I do not see needing that for what I will do.
I may regret it but time will tell, and if I do I will be the first to admit it. Right now feel good about the purchase. It will be delivered tomorrow.

I’m think you’ll be happy with the BB. I worked a small 25 hp China tractor pretty hard off and in for a year and was quite impressed with its durability. I will say the lift capacity didn’t match the bucket capacity for what I was moving, that was the biggest disappointment in it. It did fine in everything else. A buddy bought it used with 1800 hours, sold it for what he bought it for with 2300 hours. It just kept going

Initial experience with it, pretty dang good. Worked on clearing up and around where the Cabin will be going, and working on the opening back to the pond, got about half that quarter mile cleaned up from pine trees dropped across it by the Great Freeze Ice storm and wind New one had blown down since last week. That half is shredded and the wood moved into the trees along it. Put 2 hours on the tractor today and feels good, something about running equipment and getting things done that just feels good.
Over all tractor first day impression is pretty dang good. It would help to sharpen the old shredder blades I am sure but will get to that. Walked through knee deep Bahia grass with a few small pines and oaks real nicely though. Bucket is taking some getting used to faster on lift and movements than other tractors I have run including 60 Horse John Deere.
Forgot to take pics will get some tomorrow.
