We're headed out to NM in Oct.. Who all else got drawn, and where?

gunnison co. did not get drawn will go 3rd season, sometimes we even see an elk, lots of fun

Jay What unit did you draw? Didn't get an elk tag this year....but will be doing a private land Mule Deer instead!

We drew unit 45 this year, 1st rifle I think (I'd have to check my tag on that). It seems like a moderately hard to draw unit with a little better success rate than the units we've hunted in the past. But my uncle is our good luck charm on getting tags in New Mexico. He hasn't missed getting drawn in his last 7-8 attempts. So we piggy back on his application when we gotta have tags.
This unit averages about 2000ft higher than any unit I've hunted yet. Thinking about taking an oxygen tank with me, LOL.

This is one hunt I would love to do, before I go off this beautiful earth. I would love to hunt Elk in NM, maybe one of these years it might just happen. Best of luck to you guys that drew a tag.

Just found out today that a buddy of mine bought a Governors tag in New Mexico for like 25K. Can hunt as many days as he wants and by any means he wants also. I may get to play camera man for him later in the year.

Will be in Colorado the 3rd week of October 60 miles SW of Grand Junction in the Uncompagre Natioal Forest. Been going there the past 19 years.

I want to take a free range elk in Texas. I know there are some heards of them in the Panhandle as well, on the Canadian River.
