Hunting public tomorrow. The plan is to hang from a tree near some water. I'm very happy about the cooler morning temps; hopefully something will still be moving around. A buddy saw two shooters out at 1:30pm yesterday.
Good luck!

I'll be there at our ranch. We have 270 acres north of Abilene and my two partners and I will be on the stands early. I'm sure any pigs seen will get an arrow but I've seen no real shooter bucks so far. I have guests I'll let take my share of doe so if I do take one it will be right before my surgery in December.
Was going to climb in my tree stand with the longbow but I do see a nice shooter buck on the edge lately so going to take the compound and head to the pop up blind. Have quite a few does here this year as well, so if the big guy doesn't work out maybe an early doe for the table. And yes, these cool mornings are nice.

Tried to get standby at big lake bottoms wma. Didn't draw. First time i haven't started the season there in a while. Wandered down to another wma and did some last minute scouting. Decided to hunt water since couldn't rustle up any rubs scrapes or even heavy trails. Saw 5 does, all young and passed. I'll get out to some more public land in a couple weeks. Great weather this weekend and I actually got a little chilly swinging in a tree.
