what's your preferred time to arrive to stand for the afternoon hunt? Is 5-530 too late?

I prefer to be in the stand by 5pm
Most days I’m in there by then. 5:30 isn’t too late though

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Most days i want to he there around 4. Some days a little earlier, during pre-rut esp.
I like to have things well quieted down by the time i expect to see deer.

During the early bow season, I think about 4:30- 5 is about right. Late bow season, the sun sets earlier, and it's cooler. 3:30-4 is more like it. That said, you can't kill 'em if you ain't there. If 5-5:30 is the earliest that you can make it, then go.

Probably clearer if y’all stipulate if your time is before/after the time change. Probably best to just say how long before dark you arrive.

Don't show up too early or you'll fall asleep in the warm afternoon sun. Although maybe that's the best way to minimize movement and sound unless you snore.

For me it depends on the weather temperatures. If the outside temps are cool, I'll start my hunt earlier, so between 3:00 and 4:00pm If warm, between 4:00 and 5:00pm If hot, between 5:00 and 6:00pm

I am usually 3 to 3 1/2 hours before sunset. How ever 3 years ago on the day before rifle season I chose to hunt all day . After the morning hunt and all was clear I re corned back out. Even took a sandwich with me . Had to get out of the blind and stretch for about 30 min and take care of business. By 2:15 in the afternoon I had my best buck to date on the ground . So you never know when they will show up .

I prefer to go early and take a book.
I have a feeder about 150 yards from my kitchen window but only hunt there during bow season. Wife, who doesn’t hunt, generally sees more deer than I do. It just doesn’t feel like hunting when I sit in the front yard.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

If you are hunting (bow season) and not the general season then the season is before the time change.

Just go when you can for as long as you can. You just never know when a buck you don't have on camera will show up. Most of my best bucks have been at odd times, several right in the middle of the day, and a couple is some real downpours while sitting on a climber. These days I bow hunt more out of well brushed ground blinds in the shade with a real comfy chair. Getting a little to old for climbers and ain't that mad at them to sit our in the rain much anymore. But right now, I'd take some rain!

Every situation is different.
It could change by the day depending on weather, moon, wind, etc…..
If it’s the rut never leaving the stand.

I try to be in the stand by 4:00. My feeder goes off at 5:30. I have early evening bucks that cruise through. I got my best bow buck to date right at 5:00 on the afternoon of the second day of bow season. I’m saying that, I see deer cruising through my place all hours of the day during summer and winter both.

At least a couple of hours. A lot depends on if I'm bored at camp!

Try to be in place at least an hour before feeders go off but if I can get in 1.5 hrs before I will.

I will be in the stand at 4:30 tomorrow afternoon, since it’s early I will be checking college scores and maybe listening to a game for the first hour. Tomorrow morning i will be in at 6am to let everything settle down before first light.
