Tittle say it all, I’m aggravated with most of my trail cameras and looking to possibly replace them all.
Level of importance are as followed:
1) simplicity, I want dummy proof simple and easy to set up and use 2) reliability, this ties back to simplicity sort of, once the camera is on I want to be able to count on it to do its job 3) picture quality
I have a couple older primos proof cams with the switches on the inside of the door that opens that are on the fritz. These have been awesome cameras for me. Do they still make them? If not what are y’all using that is simple and reliable, thanks.

I've always had good luck with Stealthcams. Several of mine going on 6 years old, and I run around 12-13 cameras. Simple to set and picture quality has always been good enough for me. There's only a couple buttons and just scan through the menu for settings. FWIW, I also only get the ones that use the 12V external batteries that are rechargeable.

I've been really happy with my RidgeTec Lookout cell cam. Super easy setup, super easy app, comes with both AT&T and Verizon SIMs, and excellent customer service (only had to use once, but the response was from the owner and we were able to correct the quirk with a quick reset).
After that, I'd go Browning Strike Force or Reconyx. I own those as well, and I've been happy with both models too. However, I do wish my Reconyx night pics had better flash range.

GW, are you asking about static cams that you pull cards from or cell cams? Or both?

my Browning cams have done well for several years but hard to catch them on sale. I started buying Stealth Cam when Midway puts them on sale and they seem to do pretty good and easy to setup. They just don't seem to last very long as I have lost several to moisture during rainy times.

Not Cuddeback, with a cuddeback home repeater linked together. Only takes about 3 semester hours to figure it all out. But when it works, really cool set up if you don't have cell coverage. Browning. We bought one for the backyard and had it running in 3-4 minutes.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Even though I've had a few die or get sick (red pics), as I have with several other brands, I am still impressed with the ~$100.00 Bushnell cameras picture quality. (Non-cellular.)

If you only want a couple of years out of them try wild game innovation, cheap and EZ to setup. I bought 6 of them from Wally World for $29.00 each. Picture quality is pretty good also.

I have a $60 WGI camera, I'd say it's pretty straight forward in operation as far as setting the date and time goes.

Browning for me but they've gone up quite a bit over the past 5 years or so in price. About 5 years ago, I'd wait until summer to pick some up on sale for ~$50 each. Now the ones on sale are ~$95-100 each.

These days I have 2 Tactacam Reveals and 2 Browning Dark Ops. The Brownings are simpler to set up and I think the pictures are a bit better, but the Tactacam send pics to my iPad. The Brownings will take a bazillion pics on a set of batteries.

I’ve done well with Muddy, and they’re pretty inexpensive. My only complaint is that it’s hard to replace the batteries without unstrapping the camera from its mount. Not impossible, just difficult.

I probably have a dozen. But, no idea how good they are. Grandsons dig them out and set them up when they go to fill feeders.

Ran primos for a couple years, they were hit and miss some would make it one year or so and quit had one that lasted 9years. Tried stealth, the one I got was more complicated than it needed to be pics were good. Used moultrie same more complicated than it needed to be.
Over the last 3-4 years I’ve bought 8 Brownings, I’ve not had any quit, they’re simple to set up, once you get it on the mode you want (pic or video) and all the date time stuff all you have to do is toggle it on and walk away…. Don’t forget them memory card.

Has anyone had any luck using an outdoor wifi camera along with your iPhone's hotspot to get a live controllable camera feed from your feeder area while hunting in the blind(100yards)? Obviously, you won't get pics sent to your phone but you would have another set of eyes on your hunting area while your hunting. I'm looking to test this out but wanted to see if anyone has tried this already. Thx

I have 4 Browning cameras of various models. One from 2015, two from 2016, and one from 2019. They have been out all year since the day I got them, hooked to 12-volt external batteries. All still working. Good pictures. Good videos. Easy to set. I just bought number 5 here - https://browningtrailcameras.com/collections/btc-closeoutsIt arrived yesterday and I set it out in the back yard. Pulled the card about an hour ago. Works great.

Thanks BG. I just bought 4 of the StrikeForce models for $87 each. As far as the external batteries - is there a trick to running the wire out of the box, or do you just close the box on it?

I gave up on trial cams several years ago. I couldn’t take the aggravation of them lasting one season and breaking or not working. I’m mostly hunting for meat now. I’d like to shoot a big whitetail but I’ll just have to be surprised.

JR The wire for an external battery does not go under the door. It inserts into an external port at the bottom of the camera. The port is covered by a small rubber flap door when using internal batteries. The male plugs from this set fit Browning and Moultrie cameras.
