I've not used the scent lok so can't really give you a learned answer to your question. From all the posts I've read, many (and, I believe, most) hunters don't think it's worth the extra expense.

I dont use it. I just spray down good when I go out and it seems to be fine.

i take care to wash my clothes in scent free soap, shower with scent free odor killing products ect... always spray down before heading to the stand. Can't say i have never been busted, but i sit with a lot of deer around and seem to do ok. Not willing to invest in the scent lok yet.

I'm thankful for the things i have and all the things i don't

I seem to remember reading of a "it doesn't work" lawsuit that was filed against one of these companies.

Like yourself, I was my clothes in detergent that's "supposed" to not leave scent and reduce UV light, and I take showers with scent-killing soap. And also like you, I'm not sure it makes any difference at all. Heck, half the time the weather is so hot that I get hot and stinky anyway. Therefore, my first rule is to ALWAYS hunt with the wind in my face, and NEVER hunt a stand if the wind isn't right for it.

Personally, I think a mature buck's nose works so well that there isn't anything you can do to keep from being detected if the wind isn't in your favor.

However, I also remember have heard of hunters who keep a dirty shirt hanging near their stand throughout the year. The idea is to "condition" deer to accept or not be alarmed to that smell. But just like the scent-killing products, I couldn't swear the strategy works.

I own one, have had occasions I was impressed down wind deer didn't scent me. Have had the same results with using other scent control soaps and sprays. I think used together and appropriately they help. They are no magic answer. I see folks at the local eatery in their $200 scent suite eating a greasy burger and smoking a cigarette. Can't see that working well. The deer do seem to do better when conditioned some as DTM mentioned. I like to go there a lot and I'm always smart with my scent while hunting. It makes a difference in deer seen on hunts and who tags the bigger bucks on our leases.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

use cover scent and wash your clothes and body in no scent product.

i pour vanilla extract on my corn and spray my clothes and body with it. i smell like their food. its cheap and i dont get smelled unless its super hot outside and im sweating my a$$ off.

Waste of cash! I sat in a box bow blind last year after sweating all day in a pair of jeans and a purple TCU shirt. Arrowed a nice 10pt at 15yds and had about 7 other deer around.

If this stuff worked as advertised drug runners would be wrapping their drugs in them to cross the border.

dont waste your money. I just wash my clothse in sent free soap then put them in a trash bag with a sebt waffer or cut a twig or two of cedar. Since I hunt around a lot of cedar that has worked best for me.

Didn't scent lok get sued over the product not working a few years ago??? By hunters??? and I believe they won and had to tame down there commercials on scent "elimination"

First, let me say, you don't have to spend a lot of money. I have 3 suits, including gloves and hoods. I spent less than $300 for all of it. You just have to catch the sales just right.
Second, does it work?? Has for me. Don't get me wrong, they still smelt me, but at 20 yds completely downwind, they didn't break and run as they have when I wasn't wearing it.
Third, people who tell ya it's a waste, have probably never wore one and don't even own one.
Fourth, how do we even know the "spray" stuff works. I can tell ya it don't.
I use mine mainly when I go to Kansas. All I know, it works for me up there.

Wal-Mart sells the scent free kit and it works just as good as the rest giving you more money for Equipment! Unless you are sponsored and hunting On TV then you would be waisting your money!
