I've eaten Cheeseburgers in Mason 3 time in the last month.
The first was a place on the square (east side I think) but I don't recall the name. It was not a good cheeseburger. I ordered a CB but they left off the cheese. Other food might be fine but skip the burgers.
The second was from a place on the square (north side?) next to the hotel with the balcony. Can't recall that name either. It was a good cheeseburger. My friend had eaten burger there before so they are consistently good.
The third was from Rico's Cafe a couple blocks north of the square. It was an excellent old time cheeseburger and that is the place I will go back to next time. It is a Mexican food restaurant but they make a great cheeseburger. The place was full of locals at noon on Tuesday and I figure all the food is probably pretty good.

Wanted to post a follow up report on Rico's burgers.
I have now eaten cheeseburgers from there on four occasions. The burgers and fries are consistently good. Old fashioned goodness.
I have not tried their Mexican food but my buddy and his wife have. They said it is nothing special but not bad.
We eat burgers on the way out of Mason every time we're there and I expect we will continue to do so.

May need to give them a try. We’ve driven there specifically to eat at the “Square Plate” on the square. Great German food and fantastic cheesecake

I love a good burger & I go through Mason a bunch. I'll have to find & try Rico's. Thanks for posting!

But I always get the sausage plate or reuben. Wife likes the chicken salad avocado. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/06/full-25921-392305-bb9c3b88_d5bf_4441_9ea7_efc4642cc35a.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2023/06/full-25921-392306-f58bad33_3ef7_4d15_89a9_ba4e91b57805.jpeg)
