Great! Were you hunting the DJ Farms lease south of Howe? I noticed you hunted Fannin Co too.

Well Saturday was a different day to say the least. The cloud cover and the looks of a storm coming, the Dove did not fly like opening day. 4 hunters and 32 Doves. The first day we heard shots from east of us all day. Yesterday the guns were pretty much silent. Still beats a day at work.

I hunted the DJ Farms lease in Bailey areas on the opening day. I had about half dozen doves flew over my gun range. I did not able to take down any , my poor shooting skill. I need heavier load than my 7/8oz reloaded shell. I did got one bird later in the day but could not find it. It was a nice day out. Saw a lot of hunters. Will try again another day. Anyone else hunted the same area? A brief report would be appreciate.

South East Fannin County: Me, my son (11yrs), friend, and his son (14 yrs). Total to date 120 birds in the freezer. Birds flying better in the evening and are getting wiser every minute, or should I say getting higher. Real proud of the way the young ones are shooting. Opening morning sounded like a war, but after that things around us have slowed down considerably. Hopefully another 60 or so in the freezer by the end of tomorrow.

Awesome. Sounds like you are cleaning up down there. If you are on a field with an outfitter opening day that isn't producing, give them a call and get to another field that is. It is their job to know what fields are good and to let the client know. Of course, a mojo can make a big difference!!

RWH24, We did DJ Farms in Fannin, we liked the opportunities it presented. How did the Howe hunters do? Sat was slow, but we had our opportunities. Sun, just my daughter & me (she just came for company), very few opportunities, but I didn't take advantage of them. We scouted a few other places on the lease & liked a couple of em. Won't go out again till tues eve or wed morn.

Nice pictures. I guess I need to go out and hunt more often. Can't shoot anything from the couch.

Could not wait for the rain to stop, I went up to Howe this afternoon to check out the birds. Doves are not flying but they are in the area, on the power lines. Saw couple hunters in the field, out in the rain, leaning against big roll on hays waiting for the birds. Guys you got my utmost admiration.

I hunted some yesterday in the mist, but went home in the rain. Glad to hear you guys doing well up here in Fannin County. I got 12 Sunday evening (my first chance to hunt!), and could have gotten more but was in a field by myself, and couldn't keep the birds moving.
Let me know if we can help you guys with the dove lease up here. We usually get pretty good scouting reports! The birds were not flying much in the rain, but we still got a few when it would let up.
Haven't had a chance to go over to Howe yet, but I hear they did well over there too!

we Hunted in ponder on saturday afternoon and 6 of got our limit in about an hour and the rest of the guys were pretty close to it I think the total was around 100 for the afternoon . We hunted in slider the rest of the of weekend and shot a few a birds but I think the rain and the front pushed them out.
