Your firearms. Does anyone have it? If so who do you use? How does it work? Do you have to provide an inventory?

Thanks,

Mel

I use CollectInsure. Roughly 1% premiums per year, no itemized inventory or proof of ownership necessary (unless a claim is filed, of course) unless any item is over $25k.

Very easy to deal with and make modifications depending on the change in the collection.

When I went shopping for homeowners insurance that covered my guns it got me some odd looks from my agent since I needed coverage that far exceeded the replacement cost for my house. I use ACE insurance but used Chubbs in the past.

NFA stuff is easy to document but normal stuff doesn't have the same paper trail. You do not have to give them an inventory but you will need maker, model, and serial number in the event of a claim. I also take a pencil rubbing of the serial number if possible and take a picture of the gun. Store the records off site and make duplicates. Also do an individual page in your records for each gun so if something does come up missing you don't have to show your entire hand.

A few of the bigger companies I talked to in the past only offered a max coverage of 10k or 5k on firearms then seemed confused/irritated that I laughed at them. I don't currently have coverage so sorry I'm no help
