Kansas or Nebraska license plates?

Need to work on getting more action shots of the dog work. Birds were flying and was limited by 8am.

South Dakota mostly. But Eastern Montana had a few representatives.

Went this morning... only saw birds on the powerlines on the way home.... but they're here.
I did walk through about 45 spider webs.....

Had a blast Thursday morning with a limit. Friday was a little slower where we managed 8 birds hunting till 10am. Today was tuff. Somehow managed to get half dozen. Boy these birds learn fast. My girls batted 100% not losing a single bird. A few of the retrieves were in some thick and hairy stuff that I honestly didn’t think the bird would be located in. But they did, and brought ever bird to hand. Now I must admit, using a pointer for retrieving requires a certain amount of patients as they must point the bird for a good three minutes before fetching and bringing it to hand.

Today was my opener. I took the 10 month old pudelpointer pup. Today was his first hunt so the day was about him. We hunted a 120 acre goat weed field with no other hunters. The little rascal exceeded my expectations today. We had a short window between thunderstorms. Everything was dripping wet and I did not know if the birds would fly. It was slow but I was able to scratch nine birds out of five flights for him before lightning put us back in the truck. The field we hunted is pretty nasty cover. The first flight I just shot one to see how he was going to do. No breaking. Mark was so so but he stuck with it and rooted the first one out. Delivered at heel with a nice soft mouth. Progressed to doubles on the second flight and it went off pretty well. After the second flight he had his eyes up scanning the sky. I have been itching to get him out all summer and today was a good day.

Good looking steaks you have there. May have to go to the store for some this evening.

Some great pics/video in this thread. I love it!

Not Texas but really close. If I keep a low profile nobody can really tell.

[Linked Image] The rain moved out most of our birds but we were able to finally get enough for appetizers. [Linked Image]

I was only able to squeeze in one hunt on Saturday afternoon. Not a ton of birds, but I was able to squeeze in a limit.

Little cool front came in and it was possibly the nicest sit I have had.
