Who are y’all going to for windows these days? I have two single hungs with busted seals, and I’m thinking about swapping all of my single hungs in that room for some casements with pull down screens

We used Window World. But, we did very little comparison shopping

G&S Builders Supply in Terrell. Found all the windows I wanted in stock. Ask for Wrangler, he knows every window in that building.

We used Pella. They were running deals late summer. Did the second floor one year and then the first floor the next. I think it was either 15% off installation or 0% financing for 12 months. We were happy with the way everything went and how they look. This was before Covid and it took 1-2 months for our windows to be made, then the install took a day.

No return expected. My wife had an “I want, Gimmee it” idea.

We bought Pella from Lowes many years ago. Received some great discounts by being a vet.

Those can be repaired

Fully aware the two can be repaired. Our living room has a ton of windows in it though and it would look better with casement or pictures than single/double hung. My wife wants to be able to open them though so that leaves casement with pull down screens.

I figure the time to make a swap is when you already need to replace 2 of the 11

Never I would suspect

Neighbor replaced all his windows on a 15 year old house, Cost was 35K, He said he took a thermal gun and could see the heat loss in the winter, I told him we don't have a very long winter in Texas.

Maybe if you had an old house before they started buiding them to be energy effecient, and it was like 4000 to 7000 sq ft you may get your investment back in 30 years.

My neighbor just replaced all his for $33k (Pella). I put UV film over mine for $1100. Only because the wife has lupus and is now sensitive to UV rays. But the house does stay much cooler.
