Thanks, folks. I appreciate the kind words. Because of my previous lifestyle, I cannot fully retire comfortably. I saw this coming 15 years ago, so I started our own little sales company that would allow us to earn some reasonable income until I am not able to function. We scaled way, way back and moved somewhere cheap and locked in the property taxes back when I hit 65. Now we can enjoy each day without always having to go anywhere. Plus, a pontoon boat and lake house is an adult kid and grand kid magnet!
I just spent the last year building out our semi-basement in order to get two more bedrooms, a bathroom and a family room - lot's of room for visiting family!
