Hurtado- Arlington, Heim Ft Worth Pecan Lodge-Dallas City Market- Luling
My short list not in any particular order. Panther City, Brix, Dayne's, and Smoke A Holics are all better than Heim in Fort Worth proper. Heim has massive consistency issues in my opinion. abolutely.

Best Q I've ever had was on the Southeast side of San Antonio. Can't remember the name, don't know if it's still there, and doubt I could ever find it again. I used to work on that side of town. It was so good that they didn't want, or need any advertising...and folks of my skin color were just tolerated...during the day. Was it 2M Smokehouse by chance? https://2msmokehouse.com/That looks great, but nope. Way too nice and the pitmaster is too light of a complexion. This was over 20 years ago. this is killing me. Trying to ember if that place was over off Houston Street area or on the other side of IH 10 by Gevers & Rigsby.

Ooooh, 407! Yes sir.
Was in Illinois years ago and drove past a sign that said ‘genuine Texas BBQ’. That suggests that the BBQ here is the best, if Yankees are claiming to be as good as Texas in cooking.
