My trip out to Mayfield Ranch in West Texas was suppose to be a little different. Normally my hunting partner (wife Angela) and I do our hunts together with me spotting and her shooting or vice versa.

But this year things changed. A very good friend of ours was diagnosed with stage IV cancer. So, my wife decided that she wanted Wayne to take her place on our hunt. With everything now arranged and the hunt dates got closer. I returned from work in Vegas positive with Covid, so we had to postpone hunt for 2 weeks when Josh had his next available opening for all of us. So right on time Wayne's blood work from chemo went sour and he winds up back in hospital. So this left me going alone since Angela now had commitment for work as well.

This was still a great time, don't get me wrong. Josh got me on some great animals both to see and take home a memory. I was in contact with my friend sharing pics as well as play by play after the hunt. I wanted him with me to share in this experience. Hopefully God willing, we all will be able to get together for a fall hunt.
