1. Guys who claim they shoot game at 700 yards and never miss. I asked them how they doped the wind, etc.- they don't even know what I'm talking about. Did they sight in at the same temperature as when the shot was made? Etc.
2. Guys who claim all game they shoot is cleaned properly and always tastes great. If you get a "stinker" it's your fault for not cleaning it correctly.

They used to called "blow hards", before the term morphed into something else.

but what if they hunt during the week?

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I’m wondering why it matters what days of the week someone hunts on.

Dan you Guy, I used to try this game when I was younger. I did pretty good at it till I bought in big time on the 3rd day of the 2008 drop. I still made some money, but dang, I had to hold for a long, long time. If only I had waited for the bottom!

There is a big difference in how serious you are about it. Some want to live where they hunt and do it everyday. Some do it every once in a while as a side hobby.

I don't gauge how someone is "serious" about something by where they reside!

So if you decide to hold down a job and raise a family you aren't a "serious" hunter. Well, okay then. I guess I'm a hobbyist because hunting has never come first in my life.

Some have actually figured out how to do both! Families are raised on rural property all the time. Believe it or not there are jobs out here too roflmao

It's OK. Not everyone understands the difference between a lifestyle vs a hobby.

I hunt several times a year out of state for 5-10 days at a time, plus a few days a week during season, but my property is 90 miles away.

Am I not a serious hunter?

I grew up in Throckmorton and still own cattle and land there but I'm relieved you're a serious hunter. roflmao

Someone needs to keep better company if they hear stuff like that very often.
