Look around and see if you can find a rattlesnake trap. Used to be a place on IH37 south of San Antonio that sold them years ago.

I’ve tagged along on a few den raids and most use pump spray with gasoline. Just spray a mist in the den and the vapors will push whatever is in there out. Just watch your 6 because they may have exits you haven’t identified.

My head was on a pivot for that very reason. LOL

Tennis ball is much safer and will keep that hole empty for a while.

Pouring gas in it will not work. If it is deep it push the snake further back. Get a pump up sprayer and put some gas in it pump it up and push the wand as far in the hole as you can. It doesn’t take a lot.
Snakes travel a lot this time of year so it probably isn’t around any longer.

The skin on the stick is pretty tender, I bet that burns.

When I was a kid running around the Gloss Mountains of western Oklahoma, we would find dens and throw M80’s into the holes and stand back to see how many came out. If we couldn’t get M80’s, we used about 20 blackats tied together.

Every now and again, we would get something more than we bargained for coming out of those holes extremely pissed off.
