My wife loves to fish since she grew up in Galveston and her folks took her out a lot. We go out on the boat all summer long and she has a blast. She's a bait my own hook and handle my own fish kinda girl. Heck, she even likes running jug lines with me.

BUT, no way no how is she gonna even touch a duck or dove. She's never shot a gun and has no interest in doing so - although she knows how to operate the Glock if need be. Every time I grill birds we end up doing the same bit.

"You gotta try this! It's awesome!"

"You know I don't want to..."

"Really, you gotta try it."

<one bite later> barf

"Gawd, that tastes like liver!"

I'm not mad at it though. If she wanted to hunt there would be nobody to take the kids to school.

My wife was just like LarryCopper's. Hadn't or wouldn't touch a gun until I married her. She realized that she had better learn to shoot if she wanted to see me during hunting season.

Now that she enjoys shooting I worry she will outshoot me. Just last Wednesday she shot a 24 of 25 trapshooting. That will beat me some days

If Obama is the answer...it must have been a stupid question

The only time my girl has gone with me she brings 15blankets and doubles over and falls asleep...that is until we shoot and wake her up. She only goes to oblige me. You are a lucky one lucky ducker. Be thankful sir.

I had a buddy that had to transfer up north for a job, my wife TOLD me I couldn't go fishin with him the weekend before he moved. She said "If you go I won't be here when you get back!"

And she wasn't there when I got back...."THANK GOD AND GREYHOUND SHE'S GONE!!!" Since that day back in 1974 I've gone where I want, when I want, and spent however much money I wanted, and I've never regretted it !

So it's a moot point...that's hillarious! I'd rile her up every chance I got then ask "whatchoo gonna do about it?"

Got mine into dove hunting first. Then turkey and duck. She is still a little hesitant to deer hunt just yet, but we're heading in the right direction. Now days she can out shoot a lot of my friends. Pretty cool IMO.

Found mine when I was at Texas A&M, good place to find a woman IMO. Now we just need to work on our football team.

Dude, I am right there with ya! I only recently got into hunting, but been married for 10 years. My wife FREAKS out when I mention taking my daughter goose hunting or my 2 year old son dove hunting! Not to mention when I spend money on anything regarding hunting. Wait until she finds out that I'm buying a rifle AND a pistol!

I started deer hunting just last season and I'm hooked! My wife came out to the stand with me one afternoon and after an hour of seeing nothing, got bored. I pointed her in the safe direction to get back to the cabin (we are on a small lease and it was just us and one other person and I knew where he was). she came around a bend and had a stare down with an 8 pointer that she says was huge (hard to say). eek2

This year she decided she wants to hunt a deer. We'll see how it goes. I tried to talk her into going dove hunting with me, but she isn't too excited about that. Hopefully just taking her to the fields with me will change her mind. grin
