Maybe I am just an out of touch Cheapskate that has no taste or culture or are there a bunch of places that cater to people with more money than sense that need attention?

Son and his fiancé decided to have both sides of the family meet for dinner tonight. so the new daughter in law 2B did a Google search and came up with a place called
The Mexican Restaurant on Turtle Creek in the arts district of Dallas.

It was just as much of a bar as a restaurant with loud music, female wait staff in skin tight short skirt outfits that most did not look good in, seemed like a very pretentious place.




We had a nice big table.



Fancy little strip chips with little dainty dips




Started off with an El Rey (The King) Margarita it had Jalapenos in it and was very good but $17.00 each?



I had the CAMARONES sauteéd gulf shrimp, toasted garlic, grilled onions, oaxaca cheese, queso fresco, salsa ranchera for $34.00.
Sounds fricking delicious right? It was good just okay good, two enchiladas with small shrimp inside with what tasted like a Marinara sauce rather than something Mexican and no fricking rice and beans, that ain't right.



As we were waiting in valet for our car this freak showed up, I thought it was a big gal until it turned around, it was a dude

I would have asked to meet The Mexican

Too fru fru for my taste.

Me and the wife went to a place like this in Austin. Almost 20$ for a mashed avacado with a lil lime nothing else. She got some “two day mole” that had to be on day 6 bc we couldn’t get it down. Left starving and 120$ Poorer. I’d be pizzed without the beans and rice to

I dislike places that take simple tasty food, try to be fancy with it, but end up making it worse.

My favorite Mexican places typically are the ones with plenty of work trucks in the parking lot for lunch.

Mi cocina is about as fancy as I go with Mexican.

We prefer the hole in the wall types of dumps and dives. The food is usually really good and the prices are reasonable.

Agree with the others… I’d have to pass on that. There’s a good Mexican food place up here called Anamia’s we really like. Their enchiladas are fantastic and our family of 4 can eat there for under $40. It’s our go to for Mexican food.

Next time try the place in downtown Famersville. It's good.
