Thinking about buying a shotgun with a cerakoted receiver. I've never had a gun with cerakote - how will it hold up? Don't want the under-color (blue) showing through the black cerakote.

There is no bluing under it Is that a question? I didn't mean gun blue. I meant blue receiver (Beretta A400 Xcel). https://www.beretta.com/en-us/a400-xcel That's what's under it. It might end up looking really dumb if the blue shows through the black cerakote

The receiver will be blasted with Aluminum Oxide media prior to cerakoting, leaving the receiver in a raw material condition, so it will have no blue color to show through. Cerakote is only about .001” thick, and is pretty tough, but not impervious to scratching. It is definitely tougher than paint.
