Curious as to what time of season you guys saw peak rut in 2021 season and county. Unlike prior seasons, in SW Young county the rut seemed to be a later occurrence in 2021; usually I see it from early mid Nov. through Thanksgiving. This last season it seemed pretty active after Thanksgiving into mid Dec. Noticed this on my Throckmorton county lease as well. I feel the early season warm temps may have contributed greatly to this as colder temps didn't really sustain until Nov. into Dec. What did you all experience?

We saw a lot of bucks chasing in SW Young County opening day last year. Shot my personal best that afternoon. In previous years it's peaked on average 2-3 weeks later.

We Hunt Southern Throckmorton Co. and Also some Property in Stephens Co., seemed like the warmer weather had them starting a lil later in Nov. but bucks were chasing/trailing does well into Dec. (Very Unusual) for these areas.

I don't think the timing changed, but the warmer than usual weather in November seemed to make them chase more at night than normal. Definitely seemed to see less than normal numbers of bucks out in the day and trail cameras showed more than normal at night.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

In Blanco Co. the 2021 rut was much more subdued and it seemed a week or two behind compared to 2020. This may be due to heat (night-time activity). Dunno.
