It is unfortunate and a real problem in some areas. There were two large homeless camps in the woods by Hillcrest & 635/LBJ freeway. One on Hillcrest on the northwest side was in such thick woods they had to get a crew out with chainsaws and a skid steer to clear a path to their camp just to get them out of there and haul off all of their junk that they loaded in those city bulk trash trucks, the other one in the woods on the northeast side, now they just have tents setup underneath the overpass. Luke and I saw this guy sleeping on the sand volleyball court in Campbell Green park this morning, brought back some fond memories of waking up on the beach the next morning after having to much fun

It’s really got out of hand but my solution would probably result in band camp.

Cities need to pay them to pick up trash by the pound or something. Do something to be a functioning/contributing member of society although most are simply bums, drunks or druggies.

We used to camp, swim and fish on that creek in the 60s.

Need to reintroduce the CCC or the WPA. Get them to doing something for the country, and for that they get food and shelter. I say this knowing that some of the homeless are hopeless mental cases.

I'm a fairly compassionate guy. But, we're going to have to fight for our own neighborhoods, for our children's and grandchildren's sake. I don't give them anything and I'm about ready to make a cardboard sign to carry in my car that says "Pick up your dam trash!" Maybe some confrontation will at least make them move on. I think we're past the "don't engage" stage. Governments allowing this to happen is all on purpose and part of the "deconstruction," post-modern, Marxist BS.
The CCC and WPA idea is an excellent one. I'm afraid the concept of actually working for something has been lost however.

send them all to NYC. They can add to the ambiance.
I used to wear that area out as a kid, that creek that ran behind the original EDS. We could walk there from my neighborhood, Great tin flippin for rat nests

There is a reason they are homeless. They are either druggies, crazy, or willingly choosing not to work.
Trying to get any of those people to “work” or contribute is akin to making a dead elephant walk. Aint gonna happen.

I wasn’t suggesting that we ‘ask’ them to work. Collect them and ‘put’ them to work digging or whatever. Work for food and shelter, which is a version of what we all did.

I’ve been approached by healthy young men at gas stations asking for gas money. Some were wearing leftist garbage on their shirts, they are turned down. I’ve ran across a mother and a young child needing gas, I filled her car up plus bought them something to eat and drink. There’s no excuse for a healthy person not to be working, it just wasn’t tolerated in my family. I’ve always had a job or 3.

We need to start spending money on mental health. We spend so much money on jails for people that are addicts and it's just a never ending cycle. Most of the homeless are suffering from mental health issues...which I still maintain a lot of could be helped with a change in diet (many studies show the importance of gut health and how it correlates to mental health).

It is White Rock creek and that is one heck of a nice creek. I bet it was a really nice area to romp around in back in the 60's and 70's, the Indians had to of hung around it way back when. Luke loves to play in the water while I try to look for artifacts, no luck so far.

The vast majority of the homeless have money ------------- they spend it on drugs.

Simply just make vagrancy an on the spot executable offense.
Keep in mind some of these are veterans with mental health issues. Some may not be druggies for fun, just self medicating.
To be determined
