I’ve got a swimming pool that needs a major overhaul. Replaster, new coping, new tile, concrete deck repair which has several cracks. Has anyone had an in ground concrete/finite pool demolished? I’m looking to get an idea of what’s involved. Thanks

Best hunting buddy has....
Do NOT let them bust up the sides and bottom, then leave the concreate in the in the hole. He allowed the contractor to do that >20 years ago, and is still fighting fighting it. Even though they "compacted" the rubble and "capped off" the drain, every year has to fill the depression that forms. I'm not talking a little. Year to year, the area sinks about 6". Not over the same spot, just areas of it.
The added cost of hauling the concrete off was not that much compared to the cost of filling the hole.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

We had ours replastered 5-6 years ago with all new coping and tiles but the deck and plumbing were fine. Not including the deck it's probably a wash on fixing or full demo and fill.

Your better off spending 10-15k refinishing the pool, doing coping and sealing deck cracks. If you decide to get rid of the pool, either make sure it’s all removed($30k+) or cut the top two feet off and have lots of holes drilled in the floor and walls. You’ll still fight the settling forever and a poorly draining backyard.
