We found a new friend today coming back from our walk. I went and turned on the soaker hoses to make sure my abelias were getting enough water, and this big little girl made a run for it from the abelias up the brick. Cool little creatures

We have several at our house, including one big boy. Sadly, my dogs developed an obsession with them...it was only a matter of time. Looked out yesterday and the pup was carrying one around by the tail. He had already been crunched a couple of times. crying

We all need to practice Whoa more.

Oklahoma State Reptile!

Those spiny lizards are really cool - never seen one. Remind me a little bit of horned lizards/horny toads (which are NOT horned frogs BTW)

Use to have tons of them at my parents house. We also called them wood lizards. I managed to catch a cold one once. Not sure why but don’t see as many as we used to.

I had Collared Lizards ( we called them mountain boomer , also) for pets when I was about 10 years old. They would bite you every time you picked them up
for a while , then they would get tame. They will eat other lizards.

These lizards keep my bird dogs busy all day. They check every tree for them, the lizards circle to the other side. They’ve caught a couple large ones.
