My loading bench has a couple of Rock Chuckers, one is over 20 years old, one is older than that. I have never had any problems with either over the years, and produce good ammo with them. Is this Coax press something im missing out on? I clearly see some better features on it, but Im not sure how much of an improvement it would be in terms of making better ammo.

I have a Rock Chucker right beside a Co-Ax. Those Rock Chuckers will out live all of us.
The #1 best feature about the Co-Ax is the ability to swap dies. Put Hornady lock rings on all dies and the dies just slide in the slot. The die can move front to back, the brass can move left to right. Theoretically that makes for straight ammo. The Co-Ax removes anyone ever using a turret press again in my opinion.
There's a tube on the bottom, that goes into a jar. The jar catches spent primers. Love that feature as well.

I love my co-ax but my Redding T7 makes very fine ammo as well as grandpas 40yr+ rock chucker. I’m sure the co-ax makes more precise ammo but I don’t shoot well enough to see it.

The conveniences afforded by the Co-Ax are many. It IS a bit of a PITA to reverse the shell plate, which you have to do when changing over between .223 and the '06/.308 type cartridges, and there are accessories that just won't work on a Co-Ax, but I still use one as my main press. I have an RCBS Reloader Special 5 I use when using some of those other accessories. I love the ease of changing out dies. I use Forster lock rings on my dies because they're engineered for the Co-Ax and I figure the Forster guys know what they're doing...better? Can't say. I can say purchasing a Co-Ax was one of the best ideas I've ever had for reloading.

I have 3 presses I use most of the time. An old Lyman Spar-T turret press that just stays setup for 357Mag and 44 Mag. A RCBS Rockchucker that I use for the things you cannot do on the Co-Ax like pull the bullets. Most loading is on the Co-Ax since I got it. A way to stop the chance of loosing those #!&$# Springs when changing jaws. https://www.forsterproducts.com/product/quick-change-jaws-for-co-ax-press/Yet another way is to use your standard shell holders with this https://www.hirschprecision.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=308Forster - Shell Holder Adaptor Plate for Co-Ax Press Our Shell Holder Adapter Plate allows you to use standard shell holders in place of the springloaded, universal shellholder jaws that come with our Co-Ax press. Very easy to use and facilitates reloading of some non-standard cartridges. All you need to supply is your conventional style shellholder in conjunction with this adapter.

This thread is very helpful. I have been wanting one but didn't really feel like it was justified for the price. My mind is changed now. The quick change ability really was the primary reason for me wanting one. Just thought i was making a mountain out of a mole hill.

My primary is a co-ax and I use a Redding big boss II for everything the co-ax won’t do, which is very little. Co-ax is easy to setup and works great. Best money ever spent on a single stage press.

The quick change ability really was the primary reason for me wanting one. Just thought i was making a mountain out of a mole hill. The quick change is nice but having the primer mess contained was a bigger advantage for me. I use a Hornady cam lock bullet puller in the coax and can’t tell you the last time I used my chucker. I keep it just in case but the coax is the best mouse trap I’ve used.

love both. Check the inline fabrication mount for my CO-AX and Sinclair Wooded stand for my Redding Big Boss II. No holes drilled in bench.

I like the inline fabrication mounts. I have them on the T-7 and the Zero.

Have had a few since the seventies. Currently three. Redding Ultra Mag, RCBS Summit and a Lee four hole turret. Very low volume loader anymore. Don't even own a magnum round. Rockchucker was always great. My first. Do not load for handguns anymore. The Redding is my go to. The ease and smoothness is amazing with the leverage it provides plus all of the clearance. Have heard only good things about the co-ax. I use several of their dies.
