An Unforgettable True-Life Outlaw-Hunting Adventure Story

Hear the story of how Texas Parks and Wildlife state game wardens worked with ranch security in an endless effort to capture Charlie Beaty and bring him to justice. Read Charlie's first-hand accounts of his record-setting 11, 16 and 27-day solo outlaw hunts across Texas, including the world-famous King and Kenedy Ranches, and how he single-handedly poached 116 trophy-class whitetail deer.

I read it and I listened to the podcast . Very intriguing stories I’m just not completely certain how true all this is. Guy kinda sounds like a blowhard to me .

Nothing to be proud of. If this is his claim to fame he's a POS.

There are a couple parts of these interviews on YT from Hunters Advantage that are worth watching.

All this is true. I knew him. He worked at two local taxidermy spots (Fort Worth area.)

Some of his comments were sickening. Never knew Mike Fain caught him. That man was straight forward. Never realized I knew both the guy that caught the noted TV archer's shenanigans and this poacher guy. Btw, there is no such things as a "prince of poachers".

i ordered the book and read it......wish'd i hadn't

basically, he's profiting off his poaching career and glorifying the lifestyle.

I listened to the podcasts last fall. I think he's full of BS on a lot the accounts. Like how does he hike back on foot through 12 miles of thick terrain carrying a gun, gear, and multiple trophies. At a minimum, his stories are embellished.

I read the book and liked it.Talked to him personally and seems to be a good guy.
Hey , he poached deer, he did go out killing people and other really bad stuff.
I have read books and watched movies about outlaws like Billy the Kid and others that did a lot worst .
Yes they were bad people but the books and movie are still entertaining .

I havent read the book but I assume it would be "entertaining". That doesnt mean I have to like the guy or what he did.

So he gets a pass because he was a lesser criminal than murderers. Got it.

I am willing to bet we’ve all broken some game laws in the old days. When I was just a little boy, road hunting was the only hunting I knew anything about. I didn’t even know it was illegal until I got my hunter’s ed. Poaching then was not the same as it is now.

But then again he’s not out there popping whatever he can see from the road and taking it home to eat. He’s trespassing deep in private property and probably killed millions of dollars worth of animals by todays standards.

I would not recommend that lifestyle to anybody but it’s a damn good story.

I listened to one of the podcasts he was on. He's definitely no saint...on the podcast he was very upfront that times have changed and he said he would've likely never done it in today's age and times...the penalties changed significantly. If I am recalling accurately (which I might not be) he said back then it was no different than a speeding ticket and not near the crime it is today.

I am not sure I'd buy a book to read about it but I was mildly fascinated and entertained by his stories...regardless of how true they were.

Good point. When ones says Billy the Kid, Henry Hill, or Jesse James I don't immediately think, POS, like I did when learning about this guy, who I still think is a POS.

It is Amazing how a lot of bad guys once they get caught or exposed or just to old to do their dirty deeds all of the sudden have great remorse and see the light and want you to believe they have changed for their own personal gain or try to save their reputation.

F him I would not buy his book unless all of the proceeds go to some sort of charity!
