Me and Dad dropped the boat in the water just after sunrise. We really struggled early with the Crappie. We just couldn’t come up with any pattern at all other than to cover the whole water column. By noon we were getting it figured out and were able to bring home a mixed bag of 48 Crappie, Sandbass, and one nice Blue Cat that Dad caught on 4 pound line.

We did a little Bass fishing as well and caught some pretty decent ones. By far the biggest of the day got away though. I was actually Crappie fishing when she bit in 26 foot of water on 6 pound line and all I could do was just hang on. I did get her to the top once and she was probably the biggest Bass I have caught in over a decade. She ended up wrapping me up on something and that was it.

Over all I think we did pretty good though. Will dang sure be doing a fish fry tomorrow.
