Not really "badlands" per se but there are desert/semi desert areas with a maze of draws and dry creek beds choked with brush. Some of this country is very rough and you can get stranded out on the end of a mesa with cliff like sides, etc. There are enough deer tracks around to provide deer there but they are pretty much nocturnal and stay down in the thickets during the day. You really can't still hunt, too thick to move in and the sides of a lot of draws are cliffs. In any event, any advice on how to hunt these areas appreciated. Especially with a bow. In other words, what would you do? Hope something comes out right at sundown, use a partner to drive out deer? Something else?

Where’s the water? Find it and backtrack from there.
