What is the standard twist?

Standard twist is a 1:10" on all 270's (270 Win, 270 WSM, and 270 Wby). A 1:9" is still a slow enough twist to keep the heavy bullets marginally stable. If you plan to shoot the newer heavy bullets, like the Berger 170 EOL and 175 grain Sierra Tipped GK, you need a 1:8" twist. These heavy bullets would change up the 270's, for sure. If you plan on running the standard hunting 270 bullets under 150 grains, a 1:9" twist would have no real benefit.

most all 270's are 1-10, we tested this one with different ammo, the 1-9 twist was quite a difference against Savage, Winchester and Ruger in the 1-10
