No groundhogs in Texas?

They were a common sight growing up in Virginia and fun to hunt and trap. Their burrows are a good way to break a leg though. Looking at the range map though it looks like they don't live this far west. Have any of y'all ever seen any in Texas, maybe up in the northeast?

Nope…. Shot some when I lived in NE Ohio for a few years. None in Texas tho

I’ve seen them in Arkansas, but never in Texas.

There are prairie dogs all over West Texas and are legal to hunt. Not the same species but some friends had fun doing it years ago.

Nope, no groundhogs left in Texas as all our Hogs have done eaten all them up!  Gotta be at least as tough as a badger to stand up against the Hogs!
