351 Windsor

Yep. I once had an old beater 60s mustang with no engine and a friend had a 351 Cleveland with no car. We put them together and won a buffalo park speedway spectator race with the car. The next day we split the winnings minus my bail money, pulled the engine back out, and I parted out the car in the thrifty nickel. He was an overly aggressive race driver and always fighting with people in the parking lot after races so I had to pitch in to bail him out of jail the day of the race so he could drive our mustang that night. The next time I saw him, it was months later when he knocked on my door saying he was moving to Colorado, he paid me back my part of the bail money, and said "let it be known Eddie Fields never leaves town without paying his debts". Where ever he is, I hope he is still alive and doing well.

Old enough to know it’s a Windsor, not a Winchester.

4 bolt main vs 2 bolt main if I recall...I'm assuming that the "winchester" is just a typo.

Windors and clevelands were different blocks. Lots of 4 bolt clevelands around. Not any 4 factory 4 bolt windsors

351 Winchester was used in the Model 1907, also simply called the 351 Winchester rifle. Long time forum members will remember the late Crazyhorse had one.

I rebuilt a 351 Windsor in my moms Ford Econoline van when I was in high school. It was a fantastic motor with a C6 transmission. Carter carburetor tuned just right that van got >15 MPG without an overdrive transmission.

The C6 was a rock solid transmission.

I bought a new 1978 Ford F150 4wd with a 351M in it. Was a good ole truck back then but you had to almost have part numbers when you went to the auto parts stores.

I had the 400 version in a 79 bronco. Bullet proof engine.
