I've got a lot of time behind ARs. A lot. I've built a bunch of them, bought and sold them to try different configurations, went lightweight, HBAR, tried different calibers, large-frame, so on and so forth. There isn't a lot that gets me excited about ARs anymore, despite how capable they are and how much I shoot them.

But this little thing is just so nifty. I had a chance to trade a pistol I wasn't shooting for a Fightlight SCR Raider (pistol) lower, and knew immediately what I'd do with it. I made the trade, and immediately bought a Boyd's Remington 1100 stock and the rifle buffer tube parts from Fightlight. I modded the stock to fit today, and slapped one of my uppers on there as a placeholder. It'll eventually have an FM Products FM-15 side-charging upper on there once it is modified to fit, but this is a nice package on its own. The optic is a little high, but a lightweight 16" barrel with a light can is just handy.

It's not a cheap build, nor an especially practical one, but it might scratch the itch for someone who wants something different. And I know it'll win over my FIL who shies away from all things pistol grippy and tacticool once he shoots it.

I have a buddy that has one of these in 300 BO, he bought it because he couldn't stand the pistol grip on a standard AR wanted something for hog hunting. He really liked his for short range whitetail and hogs. It was pretty cool, if I remember correctly though it was relatively expensive compared to a standard AR. Its kinda crazy how the bolt carrier goes into the stock and a little trickier to take apart.

Yeah, a very different and unique system. The pistol recoil system has such a short, stiff spring that I'm surprised the thing is reliable, but I guess Fightlight tuned the system right.

If your neck is similar to most mortal men you'll really thank yourself if you swap out that 1/3 cowitness mount height to a low mount.
I've set all my dot optic scout and lever rigs like that.

Also, I'd sell that mag to a collector and buy another rifle. laugh

Yep, the final upper for this gun will have a low mount for sure. It is... Not ideal right now lol

I have 2 lever rigs with optics mounted at that height. Both are almost exclusively for using under night vision and shooting passively through a pvs14 to take single boars or varmints with subsonic 38spl or 30-30.

On The 30-30 I have a cheap Sig mount and in the daylight I can use the scout sight irons on the gun through the base like an old set of Weaver see through scope rings. I feel that It’s about as rugged as a tub of bbq sauce but being that it usually rides in the buggy gun rack and stays secured it hasn’t been a big issue yet.

Few things are more fun than taking animals with a lever gun shooting subsonics

I’ve got ADM or LaRue low mounts on my other lever scouts. Real handy rigs [Linked Image]

In its final form. Foxtrot Mike FM-15 side charging upper for the best ergonomics. I'm hoping to get it zeroed in later this week.
