First badger I've ever shot, seen several just never shot one. Big Heavy male, dropped off at the Taxi first thing Saturday morning. Gonna be a cool mount to have, next a full body Coyote.

Hate badgers, they ruin roads and two tracks. Ranchers up here ask us to take them, they are furbearers though so a trapping license is needed. We caught a nice male last year and the tanned hide is nice an furry.

Nice badger !!

I've only seen two in all my years.

One on our property in Mills Country (Goldthwaite) back in the mid 80's and one in South Texas (Encinal).

The one in Mills County was quite a shocker. .

Used to have a place South of Childress on the river, was walking along the river one day and came across three of them all within about 200 yards or so. They were all out in the daylight foraging and digging for food. I've got one on my place about 20 miles away that I saw last summer, he and any others will get a pass from here on out. First one I have seen on this lease, we also have a few porcupines but have not seen one in a few years.

Yep Mills County is pretty far east for one to show up. Saw one last year in SW Coleman County.

Used to trap a few when I was growing up in CO. A badger is a leghold trap is about as pissed off as it is possible for an animal to get. The pelts weren't worth much but it was easy to sell them to taxidermists in the round (unskinned) and they would mount them and bleach the skulls and sell them to folks.

I caught one in a snare last week in Hidalgo County. Not the biggest but still at the taxidermist. Will be an awesome mount. [Linked Image]

I've heard that there are some in Llano County but I've never seen one. There are some porcupines here. I've seen some out and about and hit on the road.

A couple of weeks ago, one of the guy's I hunt with had one come strolling through the deer feeding on a corned road. He just watched and videoed. About 2 miles from where I shot mine.

Spouse brought home a nice badger yesterday. UW farms had an issue with it so he took care of it for them.
Not huge but fairly furry for this time of the year.
Skinned with feet on it and he'll get it fleshed after Christmas for sale or tanning.
Anyone interested in a fleshed and put up badger hide let me know. I could bring it down in Feb. to North Texas.

Very Cool! Congrats!

I shot one after our ranch foreman found one of their underground homes by accident, burying the front right tire of his tractor and causing some serious damage to the machine, and to him!

I saw the badger that was in that same area cross the sendero and when it came back into view, it was right next to a coyote. I lined the two up when they crossed each other and got both in one shot.

Turns out, coyotes and badgers sometimes hunt together. True story! I'll have to go find the pic now. But yes, they make some awesome mounts! Congrats again!

Came across one at my place in Throckmorton County a few years ago. Didn’t have a gun on me so went back to the house and got a gun and a shovel and tried to dig him out of his hole to no avail. Haven’t seen him since.

Only other one I’ve ever seen was in Montague County close to Lake Nocona. Crossed the road right in front of me and then just looked at me from the bar ditch.

There was 1 killed on our place about 10 years ago and a few years prior the neighbor killed one

I posted a pic last year of a hole I found dug on our place and the guys said it wasn't a badger hole, IDK

Id love to get one and have it mounted myself

Very nice...I have seen 1 in 7 years of owning our place in southern Brown County. I ran across the pasture and at first I thought it was a skunk until I got good look.
