I have the original Wraith, and could not be happier. What does the mini offer other than a reduction in size/weight? Any features/functions that I can not live without??

I got my Mini about a week ago, have taken it to the range but have not hunted with it yet. IMO the primary benefit of the Mini is reduced size and weight, it weighs almost a full pound (15 oz) less than the HD. Another big benefit is a larger field of view, the 4-32x50 field of view is very small even when set to 4X. The Mini's resolution is a little better but IMO not that much. I'm told the Mini records audio when in video mode, I have not tested that yet. The HD does not record audio, that's not a big deal to me but may be to some. The Mini has 4 FFP reticles that can be selected but that's a joke, the first elevation hash mark on the MOA reticle is at least 5 MOA from the center reticle making it pretty much useless. The publicized MOA reticle subtensions are in 1 MOA and 1/5th MOA increments but that is incorrect at least for mine. The Mini has flip-up lense covers, I like them better than the rubber objective cover on the HD which IMO is just in the way.
Overall I'm please with it and I think it a decent upgrade over my Wraith 4-32X50 HD but if the size, weight and larger field of view are not important to you then its probably not worth the extra $.

The mini wraith is one of my new favorite rigs. I sold my 4k 2x about 6 months ago waiting for these to finally be available. I have a passel of thermals a Pulsar digital NV optic and a Gen3 NV 3x optic. It took about 30 minutes of getting reacquainted with the nuances of digital NV and I was on a tear with the varmint reduction. My hunting buddies were using a 25mm Rattler and my Gen3 night scope and are accomplished night guys. I was on target quick enough with an $19 Amazon adjustable focus 950nm flashlight that f it was a competition they'd hardly have gotten a shot off.

I've got a mini on order and am thinking about selling my original Wraith. Did you have any problem selling yours?

I haven't had a chance to sight my mini in. But I have had a chance to play with it and educate myself on it and I am impressed at how simple it is to operate. I have some fmj's coming in the mail today so I will go shoot up 60 to 80 rounds testing the wraith at different distances and different zoom factors to get a good understanding of any type of poi shift from changing optical power. It will be a few days as I have to go to work to pay for some bullets. I will give a report after my first range session.
Man does it look sexy on a fine AKM!!!!!

Does anybody know if there is a firmware update for the Wraith Mini (SM18041)? I have seen an update via the Sightmark website, but only for other languages.
I bought my Mini last year and I have not attempted any kind of firmware update, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any necessary updates.
Also, any preferences on where along the rail to mount the IR light? I've been moving mine around in an attempt to find the "sweet" spot.

The only firmware updates for the Wraith Mini 4K currently are for languages. If you speak English, then you're are good to go right now.

Is this better than the one that comes with the original Wraith? The one that came with the Wraith is more complicated than it needs to be for my uses. That amazon one is simple click on and focus the bezel vs the OEM Sightmark light that had multiple power settings etc. Getting lost on the clicks cost me a couple coyotes previously so I don't use it. If it were the only light I had to memorize I'd do it but I have more illuminators than fingers and with that many combinations I find the simpler they are the more effective I am with them.
