Thats a great idea!

Unfortunately most of the idiots driving drunk have no assets, auto insurance are here illegally and if they have/had a job they will have no income to pay because they are incarcerated.

Great idea. I understand that it may not amount to much if anything for a large portion of those involved but this is still a great idea that I hope more states look into.

DWI is a crime that isn't limited to the poor. That's why so many attorneys specialize in it and are rich from representing the middle and upper class. Illegals and dirtbags get court appointed folks, who rarely fight anything because they are getting paid the county minimum per hour.

Plenty of wealthy people drink and drive and pay big money for attorneys.
Generally speaking the penalties are pretty light for killing someone in a dwi accident. Maybe 3-4 years in jail.

I like it. However, until there are mechanisms in place to collect funds from the defendants this is nothing but a feel good law.

Isn't CS garnished from paychecks? Guy at work is always complaining about Texas garnishing him.
