Can anyone remember when Houston or Dallas didn’t have a crime problem?

Can anyone remember when Houston or Dallas didn’t have a crime problem? Yeah. Years ago, the district attorney wasn't soft on criminals or hard on policemen. If you fought with the police, you pretty much could count on an a$$ whoopin at the very least. This last decade, I've personally seen people running out of stores with baskets and carts of merchandise. Crew-zoe won't prosecute any shoplifting, and we just shipped out our BLM sympathetic police chief that publicly stated that criminals were forced to break the law. This summer when many wear shorts, you can see roughly 1 in 8 or 10 in the grocery stores wearing ankle monitors. Saw it last year more than years past. The unfortunate people of Houston got to "enjoy " having a good many NOLA dregs move in on them a while back. I imagine their crime rate went through the roof. I know a Harris county LEO that said that . I think about the only difference between DFW and Houston is square mileage and humidity. Thankfully, we still have capital punishment here for the time being. When the out of staters get that thrown out, it'll be a BFM here like everywhere else

That was a domestic dispute between grandmother and mom in Richardson. How could any police anywhere.stop that? She probably wasn't legally allowed to have a gun in the first place.

I see a problem - "Public records show nearly 20 criminal case filings against Watts since 2016 for robbery and multiple cases of assault and theft. Records show she served time in prison."

Yep in Dallas back when DA Henry Wade was in charge, he was very tough on criminals guilty or not. Back then only real dumazz's or hard core criminals messed with the PoPo.

Can anyone remember when Houston or Dallas didn’t have a crime problem? Yes. Back when Dallas DA drew a hard line, not the liberal free walk based on race and income level

I don't know why many of you, including the OP for even posting it, keep referring to this as Dallas. This was a domestic incident that did not take place in the city of Dallas or even Dallas County. This was in Richardson in Collin County.

This was in Richardson in Collin County. I’m not familiar with all the suburbs of the DFW metro area. I’m not from there nor have I ever lived there. I just refer to it all as either Dallas or Fort Worth, or the metro mess as I like to call it. Probably why they still call them the Dallas Cowboys even though they technically are not in Dallas.

Well, 4 different guys on here are specifically talking about the good old days when their favorite Dallas DAs and city leaders ruled the roost...none of whom have any jurisdiction whatsoever in Collin County.

Ok, I see your point with the DA’s and all the jurisdictions.

Dallas was just listed as the 10th highest murder rate in the U.S. Another reason life is too short to live in Dallas.
