Watched last nights game. It was ok. Different camera views. Limited penalties. Jason Garret found a new job commentating. We will see how the league plays out.

Watching the Houston Gamblers now. The stadium is practically empty but there are some pretty good athletes on the field.

Have they started kneeling during the national anthem yet?

No sir. I watched very carefully and most players were at least watching as some pop diva butchered the Anthem.

I think it would probably work better if players were regionalized. If Birmingham only had players from Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi etc. The fan bases would be more knowledgeable of the players. Which makes it more interesting. At least the star players.

Don’t know if SA and Houston both need teams.

I watched two partial games and the talent level kind of surprised me. I thought for the most part it was decent football.

If I'm not mistaken, "all" games are being played in Birmingham, Alabama, on only two fields.

I'm not shocked there weren't many fans from New Jersey, New Orleans, Houston, Philly, etc.

I tried to watch, but I chose hockey instead.

Addendum: I do not watch the NFL anymore, and I'd be more interested in the USFL if there were more than 8 teams total.

I had it on for about 30 minutes and was partially paying attention while I was looking at my phone. The lack of people and the production made it seem very high-school / junior college to me. Also, since everyone was mic'ed up, it sounded more like an NFL pro-bowl game than a real game.

Thanks,
Rich

Hard for me to watch NFL wannabes or never were. Will this USFL league draft in competition with NFL as the 1980s USFL did? Doubt they have the capital to do so as previously did.

The thing is, there is a market there

You take 8-10 of the billionaires we know, big names

Find the guys at the end of their prime or really close and put together a league and I think it may work

But this will Peter out too

There is a market for a spin off league I will say

I just read that some player was kicked off a team for wanting pizza over a salad.
There was so much back and forth on twitter, etc., it's almost comical.

No, in fact, it is comical, almost WWF'ish.

If the USFL is going to "trick" stuff up by way of social media, and be laughable like the XFL, forget it.

Nobody needs social media drama to build a sports entity.

The NFL is already a joke to me, and to many of us. For those who still love the NFL, good for you. Enjoy.

Just has to be players that barely didn’t make it, and guys on their way out of the big leagues. Just like baseball and basketball. There’s a market, it will sell. They just aren’t going about it the right way. They will never be the integrated!

And it's better than watching basketball, golf or NASCAR.
