I guess for me it might depend on whether it was a slob driving with their foot out or hot chick in a microskirt as to what I would think about it...

When I am in my truck on a back road and pass someone, I wave at them. Is that ghey too? Yep. Do you have your tow mirrors out too? Just kidding. You do you and lighten up Francis. According to you, I'm already a little light in the loafers. No need to lighten up anymore.

Too many Jeeps bought that will never use 4 wheel drive and will never suffer a paint scratch from brush. Heck, bunches of them never even have been off the pavement, but they have wide aggressive tires with no place to use them. Same goes for 4wd pickups like the ones with the tires sticking out past the fenders. With some of the places I go and have been the paint on the side of the truck would be scratched to hell and back.

You can easily find a used jeep or truck that hasn't been abused!

Oddly enough, my son today says, “Dad, did you know there is a thing called the Jeep wave?” There is also this thing called getting ducked. People leave a little rubber, or in some cases, a little wooden duck on your Jeep as a compliment. Last summer we were with our inlaws in CO. We came out of this mountain top tourist center and their Jeep had a little wooden duck on the windshield wiper. My sister-in-law said "look we got ducked." I asked what what that meant and she said it is a compliment from one Jeeper to another. I'm in my second Jeep and have never heard of it.

Seems like too much effort - i’ll just stick with the ghey wave.

You can easily find a used jeep or truck that hasn't been abused! I consider never using 4wd to be abuse. When I worked in an aluminum mill in WV we had a Bronco was only driven to plow snow. The transfer case locked up. After the shop fixed it they put a sticker in the cab that stated this vehicle must be driven X miles every month in 4wd.

Supposedly its a way to say "nice jeep" ...seems like most people only leave them on Jeeps that aren't bone stock. I didn't start getting ducks until I did a few things to mine. I've gotten them in random cities - Terrell, Canton, and Nacogdoches.

What other vehicle has a factory-made hole in the floorboard? This comes in mighty handy when you get caught in traffic and have to take a leak.

This is the equivalent for me for those who have a convertible and drive with the windows up I've mellowed a lot into my 50's and try and not be too judgmental but this one I just don't get BTW, I owned an '84 CJ7 in college in Florida and I couldn't imagine having any other vehicle during that time. When I was a senior I had a law clerk job and I would have to wear a dress shirt and I'd be a sweaty mess by the time I got to work regardless of what I stuck out the side.

I don't get giving a REAL jeep (the older, short wheelbase model) to a 16 year-old boy that just passed his driving test. They flip on a dime. I had a 2004 Rubicon. If it'd had a hard top, I'd probably still have it. I got tired of the noise. It was handy in the far west Texas sand. I don't see how a wave is gay. Maybe to the insecure types. I wave on backroads. Locals wave back. Stressed out travelers following their phone navigation don't. Speaking of trends on off-road vehicles that never leave the pavement - have y'all seen how many tricked out trucks are tooling around the city with the mud/swamp traction panels attached to their $2K accessory racks?
