the wife and I put in 7 different types of tomato plants this past Sunday. 5 are the larger ones and 2 cherry tomato plants. I had never heard of several of these and none of the places we went had our standard ones (like beefsteak, better boy, etc.). The only ones I had heard of before were sweet 100 (cherry) and celebrity. I'll have to go take a peak to see what the others are.

Got a roma planted in the pot on the back porch. We'll see if she takes up

Some hybrid that is supposed to handle heat better. It probably won’t.
A variety of peppers too. [Linked Image]

Just a heads up Atwoods in Burleson had a really good selection of mators and peppers and other veggies this afternoon. 4 inch pots and very good prices. I got 6 different mators and 5 peppers but will wait till we get the 41 out of the way Friday night and plant Saturday!

Celebrities and Husky's, and they're staying inside until it quits dropping into the 40's at night! Mid-May; early June? WTF???

Only have 2 plants in the ground but boy are they growing. From 4" tall about 10 days ago to over a foot today. And they already have some blooms.

You're fine. You're looking for growth and not production now. A couple nights in the 40's won't hurt anything. If you get some blooms pinch them off so they don't go into fruit setting mode. Your 5 day soil temp avg is 68. You're golden. Let them boys eat.

I put wall-o-waters around mine. They will be fine even if it gets down into the upper 30’s.

Finally have a few up
Got delayed by the continuous cold and the lack of
seed availability in my area
Finally came up with some beefsteak ( not my first choice)
to go with the few leftover seed I had, then found a
couple of packs of roma.
Had the best luck here with roma and improved porters
and early girl
Gonna try to go all heirloom eventually, but there's some
kind of roadblocks every time I try

Hopefully everybody else didn't have to buy those $4.78 a plant
like they were selling this year

Passed on the tomatoes this year, but kept the greens alive all winter.
Romaine, spinach and Kale
