I’ve shot Gold Tip Pierce, Easton Hunter, Easton Bowhunter and Black Eagle Rampage.

Honestly I like them all. I’m a fan of small and micro diameter arrows….they do penetrate better

I agree on the penetration of small diameter arrows and have shot mostly small diameter arrows for years. Shot 1918 AL arrows for several years. Easton Axis is another good arrow. Had a dozen vaps given to me to try and liked them. Now using Goldtip Pierce for the reason 85 said.

Anothe thing that improves penetration is a straight flying arrow. You get that with a well tuned bow with a correctly matched arrow (spine and FOC)

Gold tip hunter or velocity have worked fine for me. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I like Black Eagle Zombie Slayers or Deep Impacts. My brother loves his Victory RIP TKO's.

I’ve had great success with Easton Axis 400’s.for both deer and elk. 28.75” long tipped with 100grain G5 Striker broadheads. With 70 lbs.draw weight I would bury the arrow in a Bull elk’s lungs standing broadside at 45 yds. At 20 yards I got pass throughs.

I believe this is the most important thing. I shoot cheap arrows from Sportsmans Guide. They have the right spine for me and my bow is tuned so I can kill stuff on the cheap. up

IMO, unless you are either A. A competition shooter or B. Doing some extreme long range hunting, there is no need for expensive arrows or .001 straightness.

As I previously mentioned I shot Easton Hunter and Bowhunter arrows for years with zero issues. If your shooting whitetails, hogs and common exotics with your setup, you will be just fine shooting a run of the mill arrow and a 100 grain broadhead either in a fixed blade or a mechanical. Property match the spine and time the arrow and you are golden. With today setups I could run a chopstick thru a deer, the arrow is important but a lot of time you are paying for technology and engineering that have no real world application

From tuning bows for many shooters and watching them shoot, very few would benifit from +/-.001 straight arrows. There were a few out of hundreds that could. They were either long range shooters and or competive shooters. Most would be fine oith .003 or even .005 straight arrows. If shooting deer .throughthe lungs inside 40 yards that really holds true.

Gold tip velocity and velocity xt, 300 spine, is what I shoot, 30” draw 70 pounds. If I remember correctly these are maybe .006 straightness or worse, lol. I shoot a 100 grain head with a 100 grain insert for 200 grains up front. This is a 20 yard target after I zeroed my sight:

I had my bow paper tuned by Midwest Archery in Springfield, MO. Paid $20 for that service. Take it to a good bow shop and pay for a paper tune and buy your arrows while you are there. They also helped me a lot with my marksmanship with a bow. You have to use good technique to achieve anything with a paper tune.

You can never go wrong with Gold Tip.

Also, a properly tuned bow will throw almost any properly spines arrow near the same POI. My main, weighted arrows are 515 grains. I have some other of the same arrows with standard inserts that come in between 400-415 grains depending on the head, and some carbon express speed freaks (340 spine) at around 440 grains. At 20 yards all of these hit within 2” or so of the center, only difference is the lighter ones hit a little higher and give me about 5-7 yards longer range on my 20 yard pin.

Before I had it tuned I could not put a fixed blade (Montec) and field tip of the same weight on a paper plate together. Now I can pretty much shoot Montec, Rage, or field tips to the same POI.

I will never shoot an untuned bow again.

Easton axis but I think you are a little weak on spine if you are at or over 70#’s

Easton Axis are hard to beat. I've tries several different brands over the years and always end up back with the Axis. They fly good and are tuff as hail.

I'm thinking you are closer to a 300 spine, depending on your shaft length.

Agree with the others, with that draw length and 125 or heavier head.
