Bull Sprig? Wigeon with some extra white? Drake black duck? Banded green head? ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/02/full-62286-336155-79e1ed5b_f66a_42c9_be75_e6c6dab1e9ff.jpeg)

The pintail and the mallard. Black duck would be cool as well.

Green head for sure, and the pin tail for me.

I only have 2 ducks on the wall. One is the first duck I ever shot at the age of 8, a drake American Goldeneye. The 2nd is a drake wood duck. It I ever get a Harlequin I'd get it mounted too.

If the blackduck is nice I'd go with that one if it was me...

Do them all. No different than the expensive stuff our wives hang on the wall.....just better imo.

Unless the sprig and wigeon are just remarkably stunning, I'd go for the banded mallard and black duck. But, why hold back? Get the whole strap mounted.

Thanks for the all the replies men. The different opinions must mostly be due to what we most seldom see. For me the wigeon with the extra white is the best bird. Right on goose buster. followed closely by the Black Duck Brady topwater13 and HuntnFly67 probably have it right to mount all 4 but I kill a lot of green heads and pennies.

I've never shot a Widgeon either but we do have them. Honestly, In my collection I would mount the Mallard, Black Duck and Widgeon....I would only forgo the Pintail because I already have a big Sprig on the wall.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

The bill, they are similar to mallards in the drake/hen bill colorations.

The bill, they are similar to mallards in the drake/hen bill colorations. HMMMM all these years and I didn't realize that. Never have harvested one but have mounted numerous. I usually get them frozen, and they have lost most of the color to the bills by the time I thaw them. Thanks for the info

Do them all. No different than the expensive stuff our wives hang on the wall.....just better imo. That's funny. I have 14 duck mounts to the spouse's 0. I was wanting a pair of every species I've taken, can't afford to finish now, lol. Get them all done or just pick the best condition birds. The greenhead would be a good consideration, I have no banded birds. The others may be taken later I would think.

Whichever one means the most to you. My thought as well. I have always wanted to fill my walls with all the species of ducks I shoot, I pretty much got them all already. Bands I like to put on my lanyard, only have 2, but still I'm not going to mount a bird just because it has a band. But that is just me, its all personal.

Grew up in Arkansas and been hunting in TX for a decade. Still haven't shot a black duck, so this is easy. Plus I already have the others on the wall.
