I have treated one dog with chagas in recent years and had one die suddenly that I am sure had it but could not prove it. the insect that transmits it is called T cruizi and is more prevelant in brushy areas and in warmer climates such as S Texas. Has anyone else had experience with Chagas disease?

I've treated six dogs. 2 died 4 years after treatment of heart failure. One is still hunting a at 10 plus, the other is a house dog. I had two, maybe three , others die chagas untreated. I have several friends who have treated dogs.

Also, I have had two friends bitten by the dog. One was untreated and died of congestive heart failure, the other tested negative.

I understand the Bass ranch in Falfurrias finally built an indoor kennel due to chagas.
