My father gave me a box full of old coins. There are Silver Dollars, 1/2 dollars, quarter, dimes, nickels and pennies. Dates as far back as the 1800's. I need someone that can help me go through these coins and help me get a better understanding of the value. Please let me know if you or someone you know would be able to help me.

There’s a coin show in grapevine about once a month, that would also give you a good feel for the going rates. Next option, CR coin shop in NRH. I’ve bought and sold a lot from him. Honest guy, take your stuff there and he will make you a fair offer

The vast majority of coins aren’t worth much more than their melt value. That is what their silver content is worth. Some coins do have a numismatic value that is much higher but it takes a lot of time to sort and check them.

Will do. Provided I can remember my log in information for the TFF.

A website you could use to find bullion value and to see if there is any remarkable numismatic value that I use often is https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?ct=coin In the fields scroll to the country, then find the coin in the next field and click on it. Some people create a login account and use that website to enter and catalog their entire collections/hoards. And there are other similar websites like ngccoin.com. Ebay prices are partly used in determining value, so some may be slightly inflated over real world values and sometimes I think they are off on the low side too due to a low frequency of sells used to determine value, but it will give you an idea if you have any rare dates. I sometimes buy coin collections because I sell them through my antique business, but I never pay more than bullion or melt value. Usually less and regardless of numismatic value.

You probably have a morgan or two in that box. So for an example.

What is most important is the grade of the coin(s). The higher the grade, the higher the value.

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.
